Who We Are
Holger and Charlie founded SMASH in 2020 after years of collaborating on fundraises for startups including through special purpose vehicles with other partners. SMASH provides two types services: (1) funding of select startups through special purpose vehicles and (2) provisioning of management services including strategy, marketing, finance, accounting, HR, and IT to startups.
For funding purposes, SMASH targets companies in which it can provide more than just capital but through its network and talent pool can add. To date, SMASH has funded three startups and is anticipating its first successful exit in 2022 with an expected >50x return to investors in just 2 years.
For the provisioning of management services, SMASH is a one stop shop for early-stage startups that typically only require part-time support in the various business functions thereby allowing the company founders to focus on technology and business development.
We invest in the founders as much as the idea and we surround them with an ecosystem for success.

Charlie Bridge has over 30 years of experience in finance, private equity, fund administration, and compliance, having served in executive positions for venture capital and private equity partnerships, fund of funds, and operating companies.
Charlie was previously the CFO of WAVE Equity Partners and prior to that served as the CFO of MPM Capital, a life sciences venture capital firm with $5.5 billion in assets under management. Before joining MPM Capital, Charlie helped found Brooke Private Equity Associates, growing the firm to over $1 billion in assets under management. He began his private equity career at Boston Capital Ventures (BCV), which specialized in emerging growth and information technology investing.
Charlie holds an MBA from Northeastern University and a BS in Business Administration from the University of Maine.

Holger has focused on startup funding and advisory for the past 5+ years. During that time he has helped raised a total of over $100M for seven companies in the cleantech, telecommunications, materials and healthcare space.
Holger co-founded SMASH LLC for the sole purpose of investing in and providing management services to startup companies. Prior to that he ran his own consulting firm and was a strategy consultant for over 20 years with leading advisory firms including Arthur D. Little, Bain & Co, Monitor Group, and Accenture where he helped Fortune 500 companies grow through innovation and build new businesses.
Holger holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in business administration and economics from the University of Regensburg, Germany.
